Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, organised ’Punarjanma’, a liver disease awareness programme this morning at Ganabharathi auditorium, Kuvempunagar with over 250 people attending the event. Noted Music Director, Composer & Music Producer Sri. Addressing the audience and their family members Sri. Arjun Janya called upon to follow Doctors advise and make use of such programs needed in our society to take good care of their health and follow Doctors’ health recommendations. He also appreciated Apollo BGS Hospital Mysore’s commendable healthcare services & expressed his gratitude to the Doctors & hospital team. He encouraged the audience to sign up for Organ Donation, saving more lives and making a difference to the patient waitlisted for an organ.
Mr. Bharateesha Reddy spoke about the importance & awareness of liver diseases among the general public, which can go a long way in helping them overcome significant health challenges. He presented how the hospital is transforming patients’ lives with chronic liver diseases through Liver transplants giving them hope and a second chance to live. He informed that Apollo Mysore has performed over 50 Liver transplants in the last few years, transforming the lives of such patients at the end stage of their lives. Dr. Rajkumar Wadhwa called upon the patients to heed to their health, control alcohol intake, cut smoking, maintain ideal body weight and avoid stress & self-medication to protect the vital organ ’The Liver’ failing which one cannot survive. He gave valuable insights to patients suffering from acute and chronic liver diseases. Dr. Suresh Raghavaiah emphasised and presented case studies on organ donations and transplants that saved lives & how such patients are leading an everyday life after the organ transplant. Dr. Nairuthya S and Dr. Yashavanth Kumar spoke about the surgical aspect of liver transplants, precautions to be taken and having a balanced life. Dr. Arti Behl touched upon the psychological challenges and overcoming them in alcohol addicts and patients suffering from chronic & acute liver diseases.
People who underwent liver transplants spoke about their transplant experience by thanking the specialist team of Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru and also clearly sent out a message to the people suffering end-stage liver diseases not to neglect their problems and consult the experts immediately to get a new lease of life and recover faster from life-threatening liver diseases. They expressed their gratitude to the donor families, their kith and kin for coming forward for the noble cause and appreciated Apollo staff and the nursing team for being such great support clinically in their successful transplant journey.
